The Provincial Disaster Management Centre (PDMC), in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC), hosted a workshop with key stakeholders, including Municipalities and Provincial Departments. The purpose of the session was to provide detailed information and guidance on the disaster grants administered by the NDMC. These grants are specifically allocated to support recovery and response interventions following disaster-related incidents.

During the workshop, participants were briefed on the processes, eligibility criteria, and compliance requirements associated with accessing the grants. Emphasis was placed on ensuring that Municipalities and Departments understand the proper channels for application, the documentation needed, and the reporting obligations once funds are allocated. The session also served as a platform for stakeholders to raise concerns, share experiences, and strengthen intergovernmental coordination in disaster response and recovery efforts.

By facilitating this engagement, the PDMC and NDMC aimed to enhance the capacity of local and provincial structures to effectively mobilize financial resources for disaster management, thereby improving resilience and timely recovery after incidents.
